What's the difference between your chew proof beds?Updated 2 months ago
Our chew proof beds (also known as the Chew Proof Armored beds) come in four different types. All beds are sized to fit standard wire crates and all beds feature the same aluminum frame; the only difference is in the center material:
Chew Proof Armored Ripstop Elevated Dog Bed
- Bed sling is made from ripstop ballistic fabric
- Does not contain padding
- Has a waterproof coating on the underside to help catch spills
- Cannot be used without legs
- Material is breathable to keep dog cool in the summer
- Good for dogs that chew heavily and those that like to scratch at their bedding
- Works in any environment
Chew Proof Armored Padded Dog Crate Bed
- Bed sling is made from ripstop ballistic fabric
- Contains about 1.5" thick polyester fiberfill stuffing for comfort
- Has a water-repellant coating to help protect against moisture, but not 100% waterproof
- Can be used without legs (to increase headroom in crate), but comes with legs in case you want to elevate it
- Padding provides insulation against cold
- Good for dogs that chew heavily and those that like to scratch at their bedding
- Works best in wire crates and indoors
Chew Proof Armored Vinyl Elevated Dog Bed
- Bed sling is made from heavy-duty, double-coated vinyl
- Does not contain padding
- Material is fully waterproof
- Cannot be used without legs
- Helps keep dog cool, but is not as breathable as the rip-stop version
- Good for dogs that both chew and dig heavily. Best option for dogs that have destroyed all else.
- Works in any environment, but may get hot if left under direct sunlight on a summer day
Chew Proof Armored Mesh Elevated Dog Bed
- Bed sling is made from tightly-woven mesh
- Does not contain padding
- Material allows water and air to pass through freely
- Cannot be used without legs
- Has the best ventilation of all the chew proof options
- Good for dogs that chew heavily, but can be vulnerable to scratching and digging
- Works in any environment, but is most popular as an outdoor bed
If you've got a very destructive chewer who likes to claw apart their bed if they can't get a grip on it with their teeth, the vinyl elevated bed is your best option! Or, if you need a cooling bed for a dog that likes to chew but doesn't really dig at their beds, the mesh is a great choice. If you need something to sit on the floor of the crate that won't get chewed up, then the Chew Proof Armored Padded Dog Crate Bed is the bed for you.
