Can I use any bed in a crate?Updated 8 months ago

For crate use, we strongly recommend selecting a bed or pad from the Crate & Kennel section of our website. These beds are specifically sized to fit standard wire crates and are designed with crate use in mind. If your dog is especially destructive in a crate, then only a Chew Proof Armored style bed will do, as these are the only crate beds meant to withstand heavy chewing.

Our regular beds are typically much wider than a standard crate, which means that you either won't be able to get the bed into the crate at all, or if you do manage to squish it in, it may not sit right or may end up so tightly crammed in that you can't get it back out. Also, if the bed bunches up a lot, this will create a lot of wrinkles and folds that a chewer can latch onto to try and get through the bed. It's important to remember that our Tough Ripstop beds are not chew proof, and that heavy chewing or gnawing can lead to damage over time. Our full beds also tend to take up a lot of room if forced into a crate, and may end up leaving your dog feeling cramped.
