Can I use any leg size with the elevated beds?Updated 2 months ago

Yes, our armored beds are compatible with any size of our available legs and technically any length can be used with any size. However, there are two important caveats to keep in mind:

1. Default Leg Sizes - Every armored bed has a default leg length to match its size. Small and medium beds have 3.5" legs, large and X-Large beds have 5" legs, and XX-Large beds have 7" legs. 
   • It is not possible for us to customize or mix and match the legs for a bed, so when you purchase an armored bed, you can only get the legs that come in the default length for it. 
   • If you want shorter or longer legs, you will need to purchase an extra set separately. Those can be found here. 
2. Bigger Dogs Need More Clearance - The heavier your dog, the lower they will sink on the bed. This is especially true of big pups approaching (or exceeding) 100 lbs. 
   • These dogs may sink 4-5" when they lay down, which means that you'll need 5" legs at minimum, or 7" legs to ensure your dog doesn't brush the ground.
   • If you purchase an XXL bed for a 120 lbs dog and put our 3.5" legs on it, there is a good chance that your dog will feel the ground when they lay down.
   • If you need shorter legs because the bed is being used in a crate but the bed is for a big, heavy dog, we recommend specifically getting our Chew Proof Armored Padded Dog Crate Bed. This bed has a padded center, so even if the bed does touch the floor when your dog lays on it, the cushioning will keep your dog comfy.
